The United States and India 1776-1976 was first commissioned in 1976 and published in the same year to mark the bicentennial of the founding of the United States of America and as an offering from the people of India to the American people. The volume was published by the Indian Embassy in Washington D.C. On a request made by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, this volume in three parts, has now been updated and revised to include new material, provided by the New York based India Abroad and SPAN magazine, whose contribution is gratefully acknowledged.
